No one should be allowed to participate in, or accompany someone to an MRI, and then be allowed to drive afterward. Seriously--after Miss Mae's MRI last week--I literally felt like I had narcolepsy on the way home--and had to pull into the nearest 7-11 for a caffeine fix. I'm used to running around like a crazee lady everywhere--so, when put into a dimly lit, tight space for almost an hour-- I nearly gave myself whiplash from all of the winks I was trying to catch-but not trying to catch--because there was a guy in another room--performing the MRI who could see the whole freak show through a window. Yeah, and this was the day I had "Cousin It" hair, so I'm pretty sure it was a sight to see....

Hannah Grace made her first "Big Top Cupcake" this week. She had a blast! Let me just tell you, in case you've been dying to get your hands on one of these babies. The bottom takes forever to cook. It says to follow the box directions--but we seriously cooked it double time. Leaving us with a crispy outside and fairly cooked inside. However, being lovers of cake--we did enjoy the tasty treat.

My Lil' Cutie niece Jaelynne helped by putting the sprinkles on. :)

Last weekend, I was coughing and hacking and feeling pretty close to death warmed over. I decided to take a nap at around 1 on Saturday--when I woke up around 4, I was informed that Big Daddy had invited some people over for a Barbeque.
"Excuse me?! Do you not :cough: realize :hack: that I'm sick here?" I mean, it doesn't take a genius to realize that:
Me+Sick= NO COMPANY!
So, yeah--company came over anyway--because "HELLO! The cowboys were playing..." Let's just say I wasn't a great person to have to live with for the rest of the weekend.

The results of Mae's MRI: Torn meniscus (a body part that I would have known nothing about otherwise), but it's a small tear--It will need to be repaired sometime in the future (surgery), but for now--she's good with icing (not to be confused with cake icing) and ibuprofen. She's allowed to finish the season and we will re-evaluate in March.

My Christmas tree is still up. Yes, January's more than 1/2 over. Yes, I'm staring at it right now as I type. No, I'm not quite sure why I don't just take it down. {Lazy} Isn't it funny how Christmas already seems forever ago?!?

Miss Mae had a big heaping of teenage girl drama at school this week. I. wanted. to. BANG. my. head. against. a. wall. Just when I was so fed up with the situation that I thought I might lose my mind--guess what?? I know you have to know what's coming next? Don't ya??? All parties involved in the girl drama--are now BFFL's (best friends for life) again. Something tells me I'm just stepping onto the crazee emotional roller coaster that is being the mom of a teen {girl}. The ups and downs of deciding how to talk to your daughter about issues--encouraging her to stand up for herself, and/or handle conflicts on her own.... all while wanting so badly to intervene--but not wanting to be the crazee mom who ends up on the 10 o'clock news.
Yes, it's been quite the experience, and lucky me...
oh joy oh joy--in two years I get to start all over with Hannah Grace. Wonder if I'll be any the wiser?!?! Probably not, Oh... for the love of margaritas.

Hope your Friday is hoping! Go on out and have yourself a good time. Weekends are too short not to enjoy! :)
Big Daddy is the "Man of the House." He takes his daddy role seriously. He & I met when we were in highschool, and the rest is literally crazee history. As the only guy around it's his job to fix things, and scare off the boogie man. He spends his time working hard & playing a little golf. For extra fun he loves pulling pranks on the girls.
While I believe that my role as a mom is to teach my girls how to become strong independent women, I have another not so secret agenda as well. I find it important to teach them to laugh, and not take themselves so seriously. That is my philosophy. I love my husband, I love my children and I love the fact that we are not your average "cookie cutter" family.
Miss Mae is our oldest daughter. Just stepping into the world of being a teenager, she is learning to assert her independence and make her opinions known. She has a big heart, and loves to have a great time. She enjoys playing sports, especially basketball. She plays competitive basketball year round. She also enjoys dance, singing, fashion and texting her friends.
Despite turning 10, Hannah is still referred to as the baby. Most of the time, she finds being the "baby" to be more of a burden than a blessing. She loves animals, and would most likely run a zoo out of our house if we would let her. For now, she has to settle for taking care of her Schnauzers; Zoie & Ozie. She was blessed with the voice of an angel and loves to sing. Hannah also enjoys cooking, and can't wait until she's old enough to babysit.

17 people got crazee and lived to tell about it:
There are times when I am glad I have a boy. Teenage girl angst is a major one! :-)
I hope you are feeling better. Having guests when you are sick is zero fun.
Have a great weekend!
Teenage girl drama ... ahhh! I think junior high may be the worst of it. I'm sure that doesn't comfort you, considering she's just starting junior high. But, I promise I'll get you a HUGE margarita (you know, like fish bowl size) as soon both of the girls are through their share of tween/teen drama.
And, oh my lordy, with the MRI. Doesn't it just creep you out that the xray tech person is just on the other side of the glass STARING at you?!! OH my gosh. What if you have a wedgie?? What if you need to pick a little boogie? GEEZ!!! And, it's not like you can just fall asleep ... then you'd drool or snore or worse yet, your mind would relax and you'd pick that wedgie without thinking about it. Ick.
UGH teenage drama isnt that just the best...NOT!!!! HUGZ to you momma!!!
Thanks for the catch up on whats been going on over in your little neck of the woods!!!
Have a SUPER week-end!!!
The cupcake cake turned out great!
This Ozarks farm chick raised both genders. Let me tell ya'll the boy was a piece of cake in comparison!
Ya'll have a wonderful weekend filled with blessings!!!
You know what you just described abotu the teen drama? It will last all through high school, too. And girls are a lot meaner to each other than boys are, for sure.
I sure hope you are feeling better; and me, watching football of any kind would have just me sicker, ha ha.
I read about the big top cupcake. Would you recommend it. is it worth it in the end even if it does seem like it takes forever to cook ?
My daughter has been crazing me for one, and if it's the same one as i've seen advertised on tv, i might just have to give in and get it.
Have a lovely weekend. Actually I hope its S-U-P-E-R for you and your wonderful family.
I hope to keep in touch.
Ugh, my oldest daughter has been going through the friend drama for a couple of years already and she's only in the 7th grade! And my 4th grade daughter started this year, too. My tongue might just get cut off from the amount of biting it that I have to do, but I just keep remembering that at least, she's still talking to me about it!
Happy FF
Oh teenage girls!!! Beyond crazee- full on insanitee!
I just got my tree down this past weekend and only because we got my father in law to take the kdis for the afternoon.
Glad it's a small tear and managable. And I would have unashamedly napped in the MRI room. Totally. Heck, thinking about it just about has me asleep at my desk!
I'm SO not looking forward to when Princess Nagger hits her teen years. Maybe I should start drinking margaritas now. ;)
Princess Nagger wants me to get one of those giant cupcake pans - how in the world do you cut it up into pieces? Or do you just have everyone grab a fork and dig in? Loved how it turned out, though, they really are cool! :)
Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone with my Christmas tree still standing tall and proud in the living room. I did take the decorations off of it, but not the lights. I was thinking about throwing some Valentine's Day decorations on it so I can put off taking it down until at least February 15th. ;)
Have a great weekend! :)
Oooh teenage girl drama....
I'm sticking my fingers in my ears and staying firmly in denial - my 11 year old daughter will not be a teenager! Nope, we'll somehow skip to adulthood and avoid all the drama. It's a good plan and I'm sticking to it.
LOL! You are a much better person than I am. I probably would have told my hubby since He invited the guest, He could entertain and clean up after, then I go into my bedroom and close the door.
My hubby's a "loner" so we don't have guests unless they come over unannounced, or it's family (maybe once a year)! Anyway, I've only had problems a few times when his cousin came over several weeks in a row at supper time and I fed him. I finally quit fixing supper til after he left, about 8pm. It makes for a "late" supper and lousy sleep, but I got tired of feeding him in which he NEVER said thank you for supper or anything.
OH Well, what was that you said on "Ask Juls" about venting? Thanks for listening. He hasn't been around for a while, (Since I quit feeding him) so I hadn't thought about it until your post came up.
Love & Prayers,
PJ
Maybe it's the camera angle, but that is the largest cupcake I've ever seen. I believe girl drama starts way earlier than the teens. I teach 4 year olds and every day so and so is not so and so's friend and 5 minutes later both so and so's are BFFLs. It's really exhausting to watch. God bless you for going through this twice. Hope everything works out with Mae's knee.
Teenage drama.... I have three girls, I can totally relate.
I love your intro! You're right, MRIs are way too relaxing.
I learned myself to stay out of the teenage drama for that same reason - they make up before you can even get all the details straight!
Kendall is an infomercial fanatic; I should get her one of those cupcake thingies....
Fortunately, we've avoided the teen girl drama so far (keeping fingers crossed over here...)
Loved the cleansing intro, too!
Glad the MRI revealed something she can't recover from okay.
