Maeci recently completed her first year of Junior High Track. Track meets are an interesting event to say the least. It's kind of like going to the circus. Only the smelly animals are replaced by athletes...which, considering some haven't mastered the art of hygiene-- is a fair comparison I'd say. Oh yeah, and unlike a circus, you actually get recognition and awards for the tricks you perform. Which makes track meets a little better than the circus--well, until you consider that there is no cotton candy at a track meet--and well, then circus reigns supreme.
Enough of my hibble hobble...
Miss Mae competed in 4 events at the track meet. She placed in 3. Out of those she received two medals for a second and a third place, and just missed a medal with a fourth place in triple jump. It was a pretty successful day at the circus track meet, I'd say.
How To Trimple Jump (with pictures) by Miss Mae:
It helps if you have a mom who is at the end of the sand box yelling, "Go go go go go go!" It seems to make you really go! Or that's what I like to tell myself as I listen to my mom chant that over, and over and over again:
...and then for the love of everything that is good and sweet. JUMP!
...and if you happen to fall...
And chances are you will:
Keep Trying!
Until you get it right....
The End
Big Daddy is the "Man of the House." He takes his daddy role seriously. He & I met when we were in highschool, and the rest is literally crazee history. As the only guy around it's his job to fix things, and scare off the boogie man. He spends his time working hard & playing a little golf. For extra fun he loves pulling pranks on the girls.
While I believe that my role as a mom is to teach my girls how to become strong independent women, I have another not so secret agenda as well. I find it important to teach them to laugh, and not take themselves so seriously. That is my philosophy. I love my husband, I love my children and I love the fact that we are not your average "cookie cutter" family.
Miss Mae is our oldest daughter. Just stepping into the world of being a teenager, she is learning to assert her independence and make her opinions known. She has a big heart, and loves to have a great time. She enjoys playing sports, especially basketball. She plays competitive basketball year round. She also enjoys dance, singing, fashion and texting her friends.
Despite turning 10, Hannah is still referred to as the baby. Most of the time, she finds being the "baby" to be more of a burden than a blessing. She loves animals, and would most likely run a zoo out of our house if we would let her. For now, she has to settle for taking care of her Schnauzers; Zoie & Ozie. She was blessed with the voice of an angel and loves to sing. Hannah also enjoys cooking, and can't wait until she's old enough to babysit.

3 people got crazee and lived to tell about it:
Well,
Hello---
Congratulations to Maeci. Sonds like she did a great job.
If I EVER need to do the high jump-
I'll refer back to these instructions.
Thanks also for the visual aids.
Have a great weekend.
Melinda
I have missed you, and then I saw this in my Reader and skipped it, and am JUST now coming back to say hi. I love the way she looks so determined and FIERCE in those pictures.
I used to love triple jump in school.
I wasn't much into team sports, but I was a figure skater and had the co-ordination required to do this event. It was one of the only school sports I could beat all the other teens at... maybe that's why I enjoyed it so much haha!
